Fine lines and wrinkles are signs of intrinsic or chronological ageing. As we grow older, our skin loses elasticity as the production of collagen and elastin slows down.

Our once firm, plump skin begins to show the natural effects of ageing by producing fine lines and wrinkles. Extrinsic ageing also affects the skin but is something we can have a degree of control over. Caused by exposure to the environment, mainly the sun, extrinsic ageing is the crucial element in determining who looks older or younger than their biological age.
