Dr Allan has been working in the field of aesthetic medicine for over ten years and is one of the foremost female aesthetic medical practitioners in Europe.
Qualifying as a medical doctor in 1984 at London's St Bartholomew's Hospital, Dr Allan practised as a GP up until 2000 when she decided to devote herself full-time to the thriving aesthetic medical clinic, Woodford Medical Aesthetics.
Dr Allan was the first doctor to introduce the Intense Pulsed Light permanent hair reduction system into the South East of England and, along with her partner Dr Patterson, was the first general practitioner in the UK to use pulsed light technology for the treatment of ageing and blemished skin.
Dr Allan has been a regular broadcaster on health issues for over 15 years. Dr Allan has made several television appearances on Channel 4;s programme, How to Look Good Naked, as the expert skincare advisor. She is married to Dr Patterson and they have three children.
